YOUR DATA

Security and data

Reservoir data is commercially sensitive. Converge, the field-modelling software from Pave Technologies, keeps each company's projects in storage of its own, and keeps account controls simple enough to check.

ISOLATION

A separate database per company

When you verify your company's account, Converge creates a database for that company alone. Projects, saved versions and seat records live there.

Another company's projects are never in the same tables as yours, so one company's query cannot return another's rows. Sign-in and licence records are held centrally, apart from project data.

CONTROLS

Controls in place today

What follows describes how the service is built now. We do not list certifications we do not hold.

Seats are checked on the server

Calculations run in your browser, so the server also checks a short-lived signed seat before it saves module data or answers an AI Engineer request. Two engineers racing for the last seat cannot both get it.

Passwords and links are stored as hashes

Passwords are hashed with PBKDF2-SHA256 at 100,000 iterations with a per-user salt. Email verification and reset links are stored only as hashes and expire.

Sign-in is rate-limited

Sign-up, sign-in and password reset are limited per address and per IP. Reset and resend responses never reveal whether an email has an account.

Sessions can be ended

Each session records when and from where it started, and can be revoked. Suspending a company blocks every session at once.

Staff access is limited and logged

Converge staff sign in to a separate admin portal with a second factor. Support staff are read-only, and every staff change is written to an audit log.

AI goes only where you choose

An AI Engineer request goes to the model provider you select. If that provider is not configured, the request fails with a clear message; it is never routed elsewhere.

Data residency on request

If your data must stay in a particular region, tell us before you sign up and we will confirm what we can offer.

Your data leaves with you

Fluids and tables export as CSV and in simulator formats at any time, so you are never locked in by file format.

ON-PREMISES

Can Converge run on your own servers?

Yes. Converge can be installed on-premises, on your company's own servers, so project data never leaves your network. The engineering modules run fully offline, and the AI Engineer can use a model you host yourselves.

Tell us about your environment when you book a demo and we will confirm what the install needs.

  • The engineering modules, from PVT and wells to simulation and economics, run fully offline inside your network.
  • Projects, saved versions and seat records sit in your own database on your own hardware.
  • The AI Engineer needs a model to talk to: either a cloud AI provider your company approves, or a model you host yourselves. With a self-hosted model, AI Engineer requests stay inside your network too.

SEPARATION

Your projects, behind your own door.

Project data never shares tables with another company's.

FLOATING SEATS

How do floating seats work?

Your company holds a number of seats per module. Any number of colleagues can have accounts; three seats means any three of them can use that module at once. A seat belongs to the company, not to a person.

  • Opening a module takes a seat; your browser checks in every minute while it is open.
  • Close the module or the tab and the seat is released. If a browser stops checking in, its seat frees itself after three minutes.
  • The same person in two tabs uses one seat.
  • When all seats are taken, Converge shows who holds them and since when. Company admins can release a seat.
