Create an account

#Overview

You create a Converge account from the Create an account screen. You choose one of two account types first: Student or Business. Your company workspace, with its own database, is created when you confirm your email address, not when you submit the form.

The Student plan has the same entitlements as the Free plan. See Licences and seats for what each plan includes.

#Business sign-up

1. Open Create an account and choose Business ("Company account with a free trial").
2. Enter Company, Your name, Work email and Password.
3. Select Create account. Converge sends a confirmation link to your email.
4. Open the link. Your email is confirmed, your company account becomes active, and you are signed in as the company Owner.

The person who signs up is the Owner. The Owner holds every permission, and nobody can remove or change the Owner. See Team and roles.

#The free trial

A business account on the Free plan gets a free trial. It starts when you confirm your email and lasts 4 weeks by default.

• The Overview shows Free trial · N days left and the end date.
• A banner appears in the last 7 days of the trial and after it ends.
• When the trial ends, Converge refuses to open modules, answer AI Engineer requests and save projects. You can still sign in, open your projects and export them.
• To keep working, use Ask us to extend it or Talk to us about upgrading on the trial notice.

A trial applies only to business accounts on the Free plan. Paid plans and student accounts have no trial limit.

#Student sign-up

1. Open Create an account and choose Student ("Individual account with your school email").
2. Enter Your name, School email and Password. Use your university or college address.
3. Select Create account, then open the confirmation link in your email.

Converge accepts a student sign-up only when your email's domain is on the list of school domains that Converge staff approve. Subdomains count: if unilag.edu.ng is approved, an address at student.unilag.edu.ng is accepted too.

If your school is not listed, the form says: "Use your school email. If your school isn't listed, ask us to add it." Ask through the contact page and sign up again once the domain is added.

#Confirm your email

The confirmation link is valid for 24 hours and works once.

• If it expires, sign in with your email and password and Converge offers to send a new link, or use Resend verification email on the check-your-email screen. You can request a new link once a minute.
• Requesting a new link retires the old one.
• You cannot sign in until your email is confirmed.

Confirming your email is what verifies the company account. At that moment Converge activates the company, creates its own database, starts the free trial (business accounts only) and signs you in. An account that never confirms its email gets no database.

#Passwords

• At least 10 characters, at most 256.
• Converge refuses common passwords from a short built-in list.
• Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. See Security.

#Forgot your password

Use Forgot password? on the sign-in screen. The reset link is valid for 1 hour and works once. Setting a new password signs you out on every device. For security, the screen looks the same whether or not the email has an account.

#Change your password or sign out elsewhere

Open Profile from the avatar menu. Changing your password signs out every other session and cancels any outstanding reset links. Sessions signs out every other browser and device and keeps the current one signed in. API keys are not affected by either.

#Join an existing company

If a colleague invites you, you receive an email with a link to Join your team. Enter your name and a password. The invite link is valid for 7 days. You join with the role the inviter chose. Accepting an invite also confirms your email.

An email address can belong to one company only. An address that already has a Converge account cannot be invited.

#Sign-in limits

Converge limits repeated attempts:

Your session lasts 14 days and renews while you use the app.
